8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Session

Session Description:

The workload of a fundraiser is tremendous, the demands are extraordinary, and it can be easy to lose sight of the value and importance of philanthropic work. Join Lauren Patterson, CFRE, as she talks about how a rare and aggressive cancer diagnosis changed her view of philanthropy and reshaped her approach to donor conversations. This breakfast session will incorporate Lauren's personal story with technical elements of fundraising, including the ask. Together, we will explore how vulnerability with donors can elevate and evolve the conversation. As fundraisers, we offer hope in ways we often do not realize—our work matters.
