About the session:

Join us as we engage Guy Mallabone to share learnings from his career by answering some top frequently asked questions, we will also provide an opportunity for participants to join in the conversation to ask additional questions.

About the speaker:

Guy is currently President/CEO of Global Philanthropic Inc., the largest fundraising consultancy in Canada. He has served as Vice-President of External Relations for SAIT Polytechnic and Chief Development Officer for the University of Alberta, as well as senior fundraising positions at the Canadian Red Cross Society and cultural non-profit organizations.

Guy was recognized in 1999 as the Outstanding Fundraising Executive of the Year by the Edmonton & Area Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and again in 2011 by the Calgary Chapter. Alberta Venture Magazine identified Guy as one of Alberta's 50 Most Influential People, and the Calgary Herald identified Guy as one of Calgary's 20 Most Compelling Calgarians.

Guy was the founding President of the Edmonton & Area Chapter of AFP and served for six years as a member of the AFP International Board of Directors and six years on the International Board for CFRE. He currently serves as a member of the Carleton University Advisory Committee on Masters of Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership, and as Adjunct Professor for the Master in Fundraising program at the University of Bologna, Italy; and is the current Vice-Chair of the Government of Alberta Charitable Advisory Committee. He has served as past Chair of the Board for both for the Alberta Science & Technology Foundation and WorldSkills Calgary 2009 Competition.

Guy has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and a Masters of Arts degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary's University in Minnesota. He originally obtained (and currently maintains) his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential in 1995. He is the Editor and Author of the best-selling (Globe & Mail) book, Excellence in Fundraising in Canada.
